STILL UNBEATEN: Bluebirds pick up a point on Teesside
Cardiff’s run of successive wins was ended as the Bluebirds drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Sean Morrison’s first half header was cancelled out by a late close-range finish from Paddy McNair as the points were shared.
The draw sees Cardiff slip to eighth in the Championship and out of the play-off places, while Middlesbrough remain ninth.
Despite falling in the table, Cardiff can still look on their recent form with plenty of positivity, having been 15th in the Championship table when Mick McCarthy took charge.
After soaking up plenty of first half pressure, Cardiff did come in to the game, with Bluebirds boss McCarthy accepting that a draw best reflected the balance of play:
"I think a draw was fair, yes, I couldn't sit here and say we deserved to win the game.
"I can sit here and say we should have won the game from that position.
"I can say we will take the point as once they got momentum we had to fight it out. I will take the point all day.”
