The Welsh Rugby Union has urged the abuse of players on social media to stop after Wales just missed out on the Grand Slam in France. Wales lost 32-30 against France in the final play of a Six Nations epic encounter after being reduced to 13 players when Faletau and Williams were sin-binned a minute apart.
It has been announced that the gender pay gap among staff working for Cardiff Council doubled last year from the rate the previous year. The rate at which male council staff are paid more than female staff increased from 3.21% in 2019, to 6.85% in 2020. While the gap is less than the UK average, the council is now facing calls to do more to address its gender pay gap.
And a new weed killer is being trialed in Cardiff. Environmental campaigners have raised concerns about the council’s use of weedkiller containing glyphosate, for a potential link to causing cancer and harming biodiversity. Two parts of Cardiff will see trials this spring with new types of weedkillers without glyphosate.
