NEWS ROUNDUP: Anger over pubs reopening in England and not Wales
The Welsh Beer and Pub Association have commented following the pubs reopening in England. The Welsh Government’s decision to delay the reopening of outdoor hospitality has been described as a “bitter pill to swallow”. One pub landlord on the border said it was "frustrating" remaining closed until 26th April when outdoor hospitality opened on Monday in England. Meanwhile, the First Minister has said that the Welsh Government will continue to take a “careful, step by step approach”.
More than half the people in Wales have now had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose. A total of 1,587,851 have had first doses - which is 50.4% of the total population. The latest day saw 15,099 people get a first dose and 3,022 were given a second, according to Public Health Wales.
And WRU Captain, Alun Wyn Jones has paid tribute to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Commenting on the DofE Award established by the Duke, Wyn Jones said "Whether it be life skills, independence, self-awareness - I've probably utilised those to some extent.”
