AUTISM AWARENESS: Living with an autistic child during Lockdown
The pandemic has certainly made life a little bit more difficult than it was before...
For Anwen Lokier from Llandudno, lockdown made simpler tasks quite hard. Anwen’s son, Matthew is 14 years old and has a formal diagnosis of autism, with traits of ADHD, ODD, sensory issues and hypermobility.
Prior to the death of his father from Leukaemia, the charity Family Fund supported Matthew and his family by allowing them to go away on holiday, somewhere that was quiet and let Matthew be himself. This holiday allowed Matthew to make memories with his Dad before he died.
But for Anwen, what has life been like with a child with autism in Lockdown?
