NEWS ROUNDUP: Food parcels go to children ‘once every 10 minutes’ in Wales
Welsh charity, The Trussell Trust has said that more than 54,000 food parcels went to children in Wales between April 2020 and March 2021. The charity said that it provided 145,828 parcels to adults and youngsters but called the figure "the tip of the iceberg". The charity is now calling on all candidates standing in May's Senedd election to commit to working to end the need for food bank.
A cupcake factory supplying major supermarket chains has said that it is working with health officials after an outbreak of Covid at its site in North Wales. The Cake Crew have said that 42 members of staff have tested positive for the virus at the production facility in Bala, Gwynedd. Those who identified as positive are now self-isolating.
And Mark Drakeford has come under some scrutiny after planning to say at a Welsh Covid Press Conference, that if he resumes power at the Senedd election, he will ease Coronavirus restrictions. The Welsh Labour first minister has said that he would say on Friday if pubs and cafes could reopen indoors on 17th May.
