NEWS ROUNDUP: St David’s Centre prepares to reopen
Yeovil Town captain Lee Collins was found dead in his hotel room, an inquest has heard. Born in Newport, The 32-year-old footballer did not turn up for training on 31 March prompting concerns for his welfare. He was found dead in the room he was staying in at Lanes Hotel, West Coker, Somerset that day. Senior coroner for Somerset Tony Williams adjourned the hearing ahead of another that will take place in Taunton on or before 7 July.
One of the largest Irish Sea ferry operators says freight traffic is on the up between its ports in Wales and Ireland, following a dip after Brexit. It was down by half for much of the first three months of 2021 at Holyhead and Fishguard. Ferry operators said this was partly because lorries from Ireland to other EU countries had started going on ferries direct to France.
And St David's shopping centre in Cardiff has revealed its plans to reopen as non-essential retail prepares to restart after months of lockdown. The hugely popular spot is set to see thousands of shoppers return once non-essential stores reopen on April 12th. The centre's team is "very much looking forward to opening our doors again" and will manage the number of shoppers "closely".
