NEWS ROUNDUP: Tributes to late cricket player & NRW urge visitors to be respectful

Tributes have poured in for a Sully Centurions cricket player who tragically died over the weekend and Natural Resources Wales want you to be respectful of your surroundings.

Tributes have been paid to a 44 year old man who died while playing cricket over the weekend. Maqsood Anwar from Barry was playing for Sully Centurions against Monkswood Cricket Club at their home pitch on Saturday, when he suffered a heart attack. Players are calling for the installation of defibrillators at grassroots sports venues.

Visiting beauty spots
Natural Resources Wales is urging people to respect their surroundings and the local communities when visiting beauty spots as the warm weather continues. Some coronavirus restrictions have been lifted in Wales, meaning people no longer have to socially distance outside with an increase in visitors now expected.
Vaccination programme
Three quarters of the population in Wales have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine, meeting the third milestone in the vaccination programme. The Minister for Health said this is a fantastic achievement and that every vaccination gives us hope.
