STUDENT PROTESTS: Online Lectures are set to continue.
Students at the University of Cardiff have decided to arrange a variety of protests. This comes after many of the schools announced that there would be no in-person lectures and that online lectures and seminars would continue, despite the majority of the restrictions now being relaxed in Wales.
Second year student, Natalia Murcia, was one of the main organisers behind the protest. She explained her frustrations towards the continuation of online learning as she was left confused as to why students can go out to social events and nightclubs but can’t receive an in-person education. Many of the students shared their concerns about how online learning has harmed their own mental health as they have to sit alone and watch lectures online instead of gaining the social interaction aspects of university.
The students have received little to no response from the university and have been left feeling confused and forgotten about as the new semester begins.
