FREE AGENT: Barcelona star Lionel Messi is out of contract
Lionel Messi is now a free agent after his Barcelona contract expired on July 1st leading to much speculation on his next move.
Messi has yet to agree a new deal at Camp Nou but there are suggestions the free agent may sign a new contract at Barcelona regardless.
It hasn't stopped speculation surrounding his future from whirling into a frenzy with several suggestions put forward.
Paris Saint Germain have already signed some high profile free agent players, including Sergio Ramos and Gini Wijnaldum, and may add Messi if they can.
They're one of the clubs in world football who may be able to afford his wages, along with Manchester City.
Messi formerly played under current City boss Pep Guardiola and a reunion has been long spoken of.
City are allegedly in the hunt for both Harry Kane and Jack Grealish however, and a move for Messi may not be on the cards.
Other suggestions include a move back to Argentina or signing for an MLS club - particularly David Beckham's Inter Miami.
The EURO Exposition podcast discussed Messi's next move on a recent podcast.
